2018 Regional History Day Awards

BISD is proud to announce that a total of 62 secondary students advanced to Texas History Day on April 28, 2018. This comes as a result of their outstanding participation at the Rio Grande Valley Regional History Day, which took place on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at UTRGV-Edinburg. Destination Imagination Regional Tournament Results

Congratulations to the 77 teams from BISD that participated in the South Border Bridge Destination Imagination (DI) regional tournament held at PSJA Southwest ECHS in Pharr. The DI competition encourages teams of learners to focus, frame challenges, take risks and have fun while incorporating STEM, the arts and service learning. The participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process. View full list of results.

2018 South Texas Scholastic Chess State Championship

The South Texas Scholastic Chess State Championship was held on March 3 – 4, 2018, at Edinburg North High School. Over 1,400 chess players took to their chess boards and played seven rounds of chess over the span of two days. Congratulations to the Garden Park Elementary School K-3 team and the Hudson Elementary School K-5 team for claiming the title of State Champions! View all results.

Fourth Annual Autism Conference

The BISD Special Services Department will host the Fourth Annual Autism Conference on Friday, April 13, 2018, at 8:30 a.m. at the Central Administration Building Auditorium (708 Palm Blvd.) This year’s theme is, “A Spectrum of Success: Building a Bridge of Strategies for Students with Autism.” Parents of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder are encourage to attend.
