UTRGV Advanced Degrees and Programs

The Department of Organization and School Leadership at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) invites you to consider pursuing an advanced degree or certification. We offer degrees and certification in: 







Ed. D. Program in Educational Leadership with Specializations in Higher Ed., P-12 Education, Special Ed. 
Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership - A 30-hour Program• Master’s in Teacher Leadership 
Principal Certification – A 6-hour Program 
Superintendent Program 

These programs emphasize preparing leaders for careers in various educational settings such as public schools (PreK-12), community college, or university. The Department of Organization and School Leadership provides a special focus on preparing educational leaders for the Rio Grande Valley and hopes that you consider pursuing these degrees.

Brownsville ISD continues Meal Distribution at Elementary Campuses for Students


Brownsville, Texas – February 1, 2021 – The Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) announces today that the distribution of meals will continue with a modified site list. 

The Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Department will continue to provide daily curbside meal pick-up for BISD students’ from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations: 



Aiken Gonzalez
Benavides Keller
Burns Morningside
Canales Palm Grove
Castaneda Paredes
Champion Pullam
Egly Russell
El Jardin Skinner
Gallegos Vermillion
Garden Park Villa Nueva


The verification of enrollment procedure will also continue, with no changes, allowing parents/guardians to pick-up meals. To receive meals, parent/guardians will need to provide the letter of enrollment with a unique barcode for each BISD student in your household. When picking up meals, the letter must be prominently displayed, unobstructed, on the inside windshield on the driver’s side to allow FNS to scan and verify enrollment. 

Families that are in the vehicle need to adhere to the local county mandates and wear masks. In addition, students will not be required to be present in the vehicle.
